ALAN FLATTMANN, MASTER PASTELIST held a 3 day pastel workshop at the Society of Western Artists Gallery In July. The first morning began with a slide show of Alan's works then a landscape demonstration/lecture of his techniques for creating a dynamic pastel painting. In the afternoon, students started their paintings incorporating Alan's teachings as he worked individually with each person. Day Two started with a seascape demonstration and lecture then more student work on paintings. On the last day we gathered at Poplar Beach in Half Moon Bay for a morning of plein air painting along the cliff. The conclusion of the workshop was a final critique of each students' works back at the gallery. Please enjoy the photos taken during this fantastic workshop.
