Dennis Lewis studied at the Chouinard Art Institute, where he received his BFA (Bachelors of Fine Arts) Degree. In 2003, he was selected among 100 international portrait artist and featured in How Did You Paint That? 100 Ways to Paint People. He's received honorary awards and now has three paintings that hang in the U.S. Pentagon in Washington D. C. 

His professional affiliations include, membership in the Society of Western Artist, where he is a Board of Trustee member and has served two years as president, Board of Trustees member for the Society of Western Artists, Board of Trustee member with the Masterpiece Christian Artist Foundation and member of the North West Air Force Artists. He is also one of the co- founders of Riverpark Art Studios located in River Park, CA.
