Victoria was born in Bombay, India, and raised in Shanghai. At the age of twelve she moved to Argentina with her sister and father. Daughter of an award-winning photographer, it was her responsibility to help him in his studio and darkroom, retouching negatives and coloring photographs in sepia tones with aniline and transparent oil. Since art was her main interest, she entered the National Academy of Fine Arts in Argentina, where she studied drawing and painting. She then married, had four children and moved to San Francisco, in 1963, where she worked full time while raising her family. In 1978 she decided to resume her studies in Fine Arts at San Francisco City College. She also studied privately with Marjorie Lester Leighton, Allan McCorcle and Bob Gerbracht. From 1986 to 1990 Victoria was Exhibit Director for the Society of Western Artists, of which she is a signature award member.
Her paintings have been successfully displayed in many juried exhibitions, including Bruener's Fine Arts Gallery in Santa Rose, Menlo Park Civic Center, Palo Alto Medical Foundation, John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, Santa Cruz Art League, Newark and Marin County Civic Centers, Kaiser Foundation in Oakland and the San Francisco Hall of Flowers. She obtained many awards, among them a First Place in the 'Rosacrucian Egyptian Museum Exhibit in 1986, with her painting "Lily Pads".
Victoria has displayed her paintings and was curator for the U.C.S.F. Student, Faculty & Staff Art Shows in the past and in 1996 won the "Peoples Choice" award for her w/c "Pas Des Deux". She also has been very active in the elaboration of vitraux based on the designs of her floral and portrait paintings.
Her professional affiliations include California Watercolor Association , National Watercolor Society, Watercolor West, East Bay Art Guild, American Watercolor Society and is lifetime member of the Society of Western Artists. She has chaired SWA Annual Exhibits and shows.
Victoria is an avid reader, mostly self-taught. She works in oils, pastel, w/c and acrylic, enjoys painting still life, florals, landscapes and portraits. Photography is her passion; she can stop time with a click of the shutter and travel back to that moment. Her favorite subject for paintings are Roses. The American Fuchsia Society published her painting “Serenade" on their March 1986 Bulletin cover. She tries to capture the essence of Nature to convey inner peace toward the viewer.
