Demo info: Ron Andrews will paint an abstracted landscape. His emphasis will be on the process (thought and technique) and the various approaches he has used over the years to evolve from very representation work to abstraction.

Demonstrations are held on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 1:00-3:00 PM

Michael Rodman- 5 Easy Steps to Painting Faster Outdoors! Michael will demonstrate his palette knife painting techniques in oils on a landscape to show you how to capture bold color and paint texture in your paintings.
Rebecca Holland - Grasses & Clouds With Oils. Rebecca has been painting for nearly 50 years and is inspired by classic European painters and their light emerging from darkness techniques. She will demonstrate her oil painting techniques on how to improve your paintings of grasses & clouds.
Jim Smyth, Perspective in your Paintings. Jim, an Adjunct Professor of Drawing at the College of San Mateo, will explain techniques on perspective and how to put figures into your paintings along with correcting perspective from photographs.
Kay Duffy, SWA - Watercolor Techniques on Flowering Trees. Kay has been painting for over 45 years and regularly shows with the Allied Artists West, Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society, Saratoga Contemporary Artists and more.
Pat Suggs, PSA, PSWC, SWA- Floral Still Life with Pastels. Pat will demonstrate her techniques in painting white subjects with pastel and creating atmospheric distance. Pat is is know for her florals and landscapes and is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, Pastel Society of the West Coast and Society of Western Artists.

Guy Magallanes-Watercolor Techniques. Guy classifies his style as hyperrealism and enhancing abstract shapes with exaggerated color. In this demo Guy will emphasize techniques in watercolor that he will be teaching in his 3-day workshop at SWA on October 6-8. Guy is co-host in the instructional television show "Art2Art" with Joyce Faulknor.
Olga Parr- Acrylic Technques with Seascape or Landscape. Olga has been painting and teaching in the Bay Area for years and paints in oils, acrylics, pastels & watercolors and specializes in oil painting restorations. She paints in a representational and semi-abstract style and was awarded the "Individual artist Diamond Award" by San Mateo County's ARTSHARE organization in 2005.

Painting Critique of SWA members' paintings will be provided by an accomplished artist/teacher. Bring 2 paintings, finished or unfinished, for an opportunity to learn how you can improve your work. Teacher to be determined.

Terri Ford, PSWC, PSA- Landscape Techniques with Pastel. Terri has been working with pastels since 1987 in her studio and en plein air. She frequently travels the USA and abroad to teach and to paint. Her works have been published in the Pastel Journal, Plein Air Magazine, Fine Art Connoisseur and other publications.
